Had the argument been, “not every black public figure can be an expert on activism". I’d agree. But we have to be more honest, & admit that every black person can be an activist. Period. Everyone has a voice. Everyone can take action. It might be small steps or small gestures, but everyone can speak out. Do they have the courage & the political will to do so? Usually the answer is no. But MLK, Fred Hampton, & Malcolm X aren’t the entry level of activism. They’re the peak of it. You don’t have to be as well versed as they were to use your voice & advocate for the less fortunate.
