Israel’s ongoing genocidal campaign in Gaza shows us the dangers of granting states the ‘right’ of existence.

Slogans are bad. Tents are bad. Broken campus property is bad. TikTok is bad. Keffiyahs are bad, and so are boycotts. Everything is bad except for Imperialism, war crimes, and genocide. That’s what the Western world’s rulers want us to believe when it comes to Israel’s ongoing genocidal campaign on the Palestinian people, not just in the Gaza Strip but also in the West Bank. Public opinion has shifted drastically against Israel since October 7th, and they have no one else to blame but themselves. For the first time, supporting Palestinian statehood has become somewhat mainstream. The vast majority of UN nations support such a measure, but there are still powerful opponents of it — most namely Israel and their principal benefactor, the United States. American hypocrisy has never been so blatant, as they purport to favor a two-state solution while also single-handedly blocking Palestinian statehood repeatedly at the UN (you can’t have a two-state solution without two states…). Leveraging their Security Council veto power against allowing long-oppressed Palestinians the recognition they’ve deserved for decades now. However, what gets lost in all this talk of a two-state solution is that Palestine should not be divided into two states. Palestine should be one state…
