This is an…interesting response. However, using your restaurant analogy, I’m simply leaving the restaurant. If there are no places that serve what I wish to eat, then I’ll cook for myself at home instead of paying to receive something that I don’t like. My question is, how is voting for more evil, even if it is less evil in your estimation, doing something to end the evil? Refusing to sign off on evil is taking a stand. No matter how insignificant that it may seem at the time. Signing off on that evil, by literally voting for it, is doing nothing to bring an end to it. what incentive do candidates have to listen to my concerns if they know they’ll have my vote no matter what? Lastly, I view every election as a referendum on my values. So, in truth, to me there isn’t a difference between a referendum & an election. Even the actual referendums, which I’ll have one on my ballot in November, are also referendums on my values.

Side note: your time would be better spent making phone calls or sending texts for your preferred candidate with undecided voters. Good luck with that.
