Violence is inflicted on colonized peoples regardless of their choices. For more, see: Israel's 'mowing the lawn,' strategy and Frantz Fanon's 'On Violence.' Peace isn't possible unless oppression is resisted and defeated. Violent oppression cannot be defeated by non-violent means. If this was the case, Martin Luther King, Jr. wouldn't have been assassinated.
